Project Description
The project is developed in partnership with Fundația Orange, BCR and Școala de bani. Fab Mobile aims to give access to digital production education for vulnerable communities of youngsters located in the rural areas of Iași region.
Who is the project for?
The beneficiaries of the project are the youngsters from vulnerable communities as rural locations that want to develop their digital and personal skills.
General context
As we have developed our project Solidarity Fab Lab, we encountered a big challenge: most of the participants could not join the digital projection workshops because they couldn’t afford to pay for transportation. To avoid this situation, we created Fab Mobile, a moving space where they can explore, learn and interact with mentors and 3D printing and other digital systems, in order to get familiar with new possibilities for their life path.
We aim to go mobile by building a mobile laboratory on a van platform, that will be used in rural, more remote areas of IAȘI county, but also going on tour to the smaller cities form Western Moldova in order to facilitate access to STEM.
This project is part of our solidarity actions over time (means of sustainability and empowerment) in the global project of Fab Lab.
Main objective
We want to position Solidarity FabLab as a benchmark in digital education to convince local authorities to setup mini FabLabs in all impacted communities with local trainers.
Our final scope would be to change these young people’s life for the better and to provide them with a chance for a fulfilled professional life.
